Yesterday afternoon, I took a different route to get up on the freeway in
Las Vegas. Next to Nellis AFB, there were three photographers taking
pictures. What I'm going to describe was a fast view from driving by at
55
mph.
The first two cameras were definitely black. They had lenses that looked
about eighteen inches long, and four to six inches wide at the end. One
fellow had just snapped a photo of five Thunderbirds coming in formation,
and he lowered the camera as though it were very heavy. The last had a
camera I didn't see, as I saw the lens mostly. It was very light grey
color
with about three rings on it, black, IIRC.
The jets were not high, as they were on landing approach pattern. I'm
amazed that they using such large lenses, but may have been using them at
a
smaller magnification.
What sort of lenses fit that description?
Thanks.
Steve
