It is possible to use M42 lenses on modern bayonet-mount (D)SLR cameras, 
the only wrinkle is that they must be a lens with a "manual" setting or 
preset aperture as the stop-down pin has nothing to push it in when the 
shutter goes off.
Preset lenses are okay, as the stop-down ring does the same thing that 
it did on the old M42 SLR cameras.
