Thank you all for your replies. This will give me a lot to try in the
future. Definitely need to get some clean CF cards as well as spare
batteries and realize that the flash takes a while to recharge. The
Err99 was an incompatible Sigma 70/300 Super Macro. I sent that back
to Sigma for re-chipping.
