Who cares? Chances are that there is/has been/will be intelligent life
out there somewhere. Unless we're in a position to interact then it's
not really relevant. An occasional possible sighting of something that
might indicate extraterrestrial life with advanced technology shows only
that they might be there and might be interested in us. Until they say
hello, or put a battlestar into orbit around our planet, it doesn't
really make much difference to anything, does it?
