One thing to bear in mind, if you are shooting in RAW mode you will
seriously reduce the number of images your card(s) can hold. Then again,
cards are cheap so maybe it's a no brainer!
RAW mode is great to play around with to extract the maximum quality
potential from an image but if at this stage you are "only" using the G9
for
holiday/travel shots you might be just as well served to leave it set at
the
highest res (or super fine) jpg mode.
