Canon EOS 1V data transfer problem

by "Alan Justice" <spam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 16, 2008 at 09:49 AM

I've been using the Canon ES-E1 link software to DL shooting data from my
1V
to a computer with Windoze 98. I tried loading the software to my Win XP
computer. I guess the software loaded, but when I plugged in the cable, I
was asked to re-insert the CD, then told it was not necessarily compatible
and might cause problems with the OS. I called Canon, who said they don't
sup****t that product for newer computers.

I may have to replace my Win 98 system. Has anyone tried this
software/hardware on a Win XP or Vista device? Could it really cause
problems with the OS (the reason I haven't tried it), or would it just not
work?
