I use Irfanview to do simple batch processing jobs and RawShooter and 
PhotoShop to do pretty much everything else.  You can do a great deal with

Irfanview if you fiddle with all the controls.

There is no paid version this is the whole thing and it is simply amazing
to 
me that he keeps putting the time and work into updating it.  For "Free"
it 
is an incredible tool.
