Dear "SB"

I've just picked up on this thread, & need to clarify the position re
the "grey market", at least as far as Adorama is concerned.
"Grey market" refers to products im****ted directly into the US, rather
than through the manufacturer's authorized agents / distributors. It
is perfectly legal to directly im****t these products and sell them in
the US; the term "grey market" was coined by manufacturer's authorized
distributors who wanted to discourage consumers from buying these
(less costly) goods.

Adorama Camera was started - & is still run by - a bunch of
photography enthusiasts. As we all know, photography as a hobby, or as
a business, can get expensive! Adorama makes direct im****t goods
available so that other photographers can get hold of quality goods at
a reduced price.
All Adorama's direct im****t goods are clearly labelled as such, and
ALL carry a warranty!

Since there is no factory authorized middle man involved in the im****t
of these products the costs are lower, and so the price of the item is
lower to the consumer.

In addition many items which are in short supply or are not im****ted
at all by the manufacturer's authorized distributors are available in
direct im****t.

Again since there is no factory authorized middle man involved in the
im****t of these products, there is no manufacturer's warranty,
however,
direct im****t Products purchased from Adorama are warranted by Adorama
Camera and only have to be returned to Adorama Camera for in-warranty
repair.

There is no difference in the actual products. Occasionally
manufacturers will name them differently for example the Minolta USA
Maxxum products are called Minolta Dynax products in Europe and in
Asia

On direct Im****t products purchased from Adorama, we offer the same
warranty as the USA warranted products carry for a period of one year.

I do hope this clarifies the position, but if you have any further
queries regarding any aspect of our service at Adorama Camera, please
do not hesitate to contact me, helen.oster@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
