Photo Sales, Online?

I had my first (and probably last) Art Opening at a local not for 
profit gallery a couple days ago (Saturday). I had a very specific 
subject matter and thought it was something I should do.

   To my surprise, I sold a number of things. 23 items. Well, I wasn't 
surprised to have sold a few things, but I was surprised at that number. 
I've never seen anything sell there, but I figured a lot of that was 
that no one had really tried. A new concept, so to speak.

   Now, I don't want to become an itinerant salesman but I wondered 
about selling online. Anyone have any success with this? My normal 
inclination would be that it wouldn't fly.

  On another note, I've been thinking of YouTubing the exhibit, probably 
adding some vocal descriptions... Anyone done that?
