Now, Wolfgang, don't take it personally. But, aren't you guilty of the
same
thing? After all, this thread started off rather humourously, and my
initial responses were in that same vane, as was yours.
When I read your comment, I didn't recognize the name, so I wasn't sure
whether you were confusing my style with someone else and thought I might
be
an alias for, or whether you were making a more intricate reference.
Which
is why I responded with the question of who is David Harriman?
Now, you come back and accuse me of inconveniencing yourself and thousands
of other people because I am too lazy to "copy and paste" a term into
Google, without understanding anything about my situation?
Well, FYI, it isn't quite as simple as you think. You might be able to
simply copy and paste and read, but, when you are blind and depend on a
screen reader, that isn't the case. Go to Google. Look at what is in
front
of you, and try to imagine how a machine would read back a description and
the contents of that page. How long do you think it would take to listen
to
that narrative?
It can take me in excess of ten minutes to isolate and listen to a small
piece of material buried deep in those humungous results pages Google
generates -- and that is assuming the result I'm after is on the first
page.
You don't even want to think about how long it takes if it isn't.
So, I'm sorry if I inconvenienced you when I thought you might come back
with, "Oh, he's a guy I've noticed posting to another group." Or, "He's
an
author I enjoy." Or, "He's this idiot who works for the US government I
can't stand." But, in the future, when confronted by something I post
that
you don't have the energy to reply to, perhaps it would be more polite to
simply ignore it than to assume everything is as easy for others as it is
for yourself. Remember, when you ASSume, you make an "ass out of u and
me."
Good Day,
Dudley
