As for "high-ISO performance," I have never seen any photography load
Kodachrome 6400 in a Nikonos or ReefMaster. I've seen folks using K64,
but never K6400. I've never been to the Arctic, so maybe that's what
they shoot there. I've also never seen K6400.... 

As for the "rigors of a hostile environment," my 300D has the same
operating temperature range as the mighty D3, and both can operate at
0-degrees C. The temp range of the Arctic Ocean is 0-1 degrees C., so
if you wrap either in a suitable underwater housing (Yngve from the
video uses Subal) you're good to go.
