Nonsense! I'm just pointing out the facts.

Well, I've owned both platforms extensively in film days and I have no
problem with either one from a brand perspective since both have their
strengths and weaknesses. As for digital days, I've owned both a 5D and
Mk
III so your point is moot.

Now there's a slice of bull****! PCMCIA type III HDs were more durable
than
you want to believe. True, they had glass platters, but that didn't make
them any more fragile than their aluminum alloy counterparts. In fact,
the
glass platter drives could withstand more G forces and weren't as
susceptible to wear as the alloy platters. For years Itronix built many
small magnesium alloy computers/test sets that used the virtually
indestructible PCMCIA HDs. And yes, the Itronix laptop is even stronger
and
better built than the Panasonic Toughbook.

I never made the claim that the D3 is anywhere near the ruggedness of the
DCS460. It's like comparing the old Motorola MX-300 that can stop a 9mm
and
still be able to crack a perpetrator's skull in one swipe to whatever
composite crap that is being used today. I'm sorry if it bothers you that
Canon isn't rugged enough to leave the earth's atmosphere.

That's just it; the only modification the D3 would require for space
travel
is an "E" type screen with gridlines. That only takes 30-seconds to
install.
