Fuji S5 Slowness Problem Solved

by Doug Jewell <ask@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 9, 2008 at 10:38 PM

A few days ago I posted about the S5 being slower than
treacle on a winters day. Well, I found out the problem.

When the camera is set for expanded dynamic range it slows
it down - presumably because it has to process the extra
data from the extra photosites. With dynamic range expansion
turned off, the camera offers acceptable performance. Still
not superfast, but delivers acceptable shot-to-shot
performance, and up to 3FPS in machine-gun mode.
