BINGO!!!  We have a winner!  Since both Nikon and Canon use WB as a factor
in calculating exposure *BEFORE* the shutter is pulled you still can have
a
blown channel(s) prior to the RAW has been created.

Sorry Collin, both Nikon and Canon do it pretty much the same way when it
comes to using WB when calculating exposure prior to the shutter's release
and ultimately storing the RAW file.
