I can only comment on following set up:- HP Colour Laser at work, Epson
Stylus Photo R800 at home.

I really think it depends on the paper used - at home photo paper, at
work the cheapest A4 available at the time.

Sorry I can't be more precise, but I do believe that ink jets with
multiple colour cartridges will give a better colour, but again,
depending on the paper used.
