Nothing wrong with a "flawed" camera when you consider there isn't a
better
one on the planet and won't be for a long while.  It's hard to improve on
perfection and Nikon set the bar really high when they made the D3.

Possibly true, and maybe so in Nikon's case.  The sad thing for Nikon is
they broke a time honored tradition of only giving one firmware release
per
camera model while Canon usually spits out in upwards of 10 per model. 
The
Mk III is halfway to the big one zero and it's been out only a year.

Well yes, considering Canon users are accustomed to being beta testers.

Funny thing is I've had the op****tunity to blast off a few bursts
yesterday
and I can't seem to duplicate the problem.  I'm sure there's a problem in
there somewhere, but after digging deep for it I find myself disappointed
that Nikon left me out of the club.  I did get brighter and adjustable
focus
points for my effort.  And the minimal shutter speed in the auto-ISO now
taps out at 1/4000 is another bonus for some.  It only gets better.
