Odd. My 20Ds had serious lockup flaws when changing lenses. Firmware #2
stuffed up one camera entirely and went back to Canon ...Never to return.

The 5D I bought instead wasn't much better. Back under warranty (with
20D #1). The 20D for it's Grip not working, the 5D for a huge back focus
error. 2 weeks and 3 days to fix them and the 5D came back with a mirror
that fell out in the middle of the next wedding!

Man if ever there was a problem camera it surely has to be called EOS.
Even my EOS 1 died and was resurrected under warranty. **** man even one
of the EOS wor****pers at Photo Continental who convinced me the 5D was
to one to have, had his mirror fall out in the middle of his cousin's
wedding!

My Nikons have had some serious work in the past 6 weeks and not missed
a shot, not failed to meter a scene. All the Canons on the other hand
couldn't reliably meter a scene outside after shooting some inside
without first shooting a few frames to wake it up to where it was.

Absolutely not good enough when $500 consumer cameras I used as backups
often captured shots the Canon's simply couldn't get.

was taken (hand held) with
an Olympus pocket camera after the frustration of not being able to get
it with a 20D without a tripod which I didn't have at 4:30 AM.

You can say what you like about Rita's Nikon romance but one thing you
simply can't overlook is that Nikon - even the old D70s created better
quality images than their Canon equivalents. Noise is not an issue with
Nikons in the way it is with Canon cameras.

The cost to discover that buying Canon in the first place was a mistake
~ is high but cars last more than a few years now and mine looks as good
as a new one anyway... Looks like I'll miss the 18 months rule on this
one!
