EF-S lenses have a small (useless) flange on the back to prevent you using
them on FF cameras. I had a tech guy machine off the flange on one of my
"s"
lenses to see what would happen on a 5D.
Terrible, absolutely terrible viganetting but croped down to the 1.6
factor
size it was intended for and it worked fine. It's a pretty common
modification and it had no effect on the lens other than to make it fit on
a
EF mount.
As always with Usenet advise, your experiences may differ.
Decide for yourself if the risk to find out is worth it.
