Hi all..
I've been reading through this group for the past 8 years or so ..
Started out with an old Pentax and an m 50mm lens.. And was always
envious of the cameras going around at the time ..
I always tried to justify spending so much money on a new camera, if
all I was going to do was take random pictures of either my family or,
when I have time and finally got out of the house, landscapes, &c.
I've been wanting to take a leap into digital photography for a while,
and last week, on the 6th, to be precise, on my birthday, I got a
Nikon D80!
I am so happy, albeit a little overwhelmed with it and all the
features it has!
Moving from a k1000 to a D80 is a giant leap! Thankfully it seems easy
enough to navigate through its dials and what not.. And whilst not
having had taken too many pictures, the pre-set modes (ie, ****trait,
action, landscape, night modes &c. ) look surprisingly good ..
Anyway I'm loving it thus far, and even the lens I got seems decent
enough to keep for a while .. (I got it with the 18-135 kit lens)..
Would have rather had the 18-200, but .... I won't complain.. :)
Again.. I'm here to share my excitement with the world.. So rejoice
with me!
