Perhaps it's just too early for the final considerations about APS to 
come to ones mind.

One issue is digitizing APS film: Now that the number of new dedicated 
film scanners entering market seems to be decreasing, it might be good 
time to consider getting one capable of handling APS film. A couple of 
years ago, Canon and Minolta were about the only ones providing an APS 
cassette handling device in their film scanners. Or were there few in 
Nikon lineup as well? Today, I think, Canon doesn't manufacture their 
only model any more, what about Minolta? Anyone purchased the APS 
accessory for a Minolta scanner lately? Other brands on market? As far 
as I know, no flatbed scanner provides similar functionality. Surely, 
the APS film canister can be opened and the frames can be read manually, 
but it's a tedious job.
