Oh yes. There are still, out there, people who cannot load a regular 35mm
camera (my in-law is the case. i have just bought her a Konika Revio Z3
APS
camera and she is happy with it). The same is for my kids. They've got
Canon
Elph and I must say I use it too, on extreme occasions like crazy dances
in
highlander's pub. These cameras were bought on internet auctions and the
main reason was the cost. One can buy it for the price of two film rolls
and
their construction is more reliable (metal) then regular 35mm compacts.
The same is the case of my EOS IX. I like it's metal touch, it's smaller
size, it's sound (like pro camera), but still I work on mastering it.
My super wide lens is only a medium wide on it and I 've found it not so
sharp as on SLR body. I am not sure about the compatibility of lenses of
both systems. Yes, it just fits the EF mount, but I have read about
optical
problems in case of mixing lens EF and EF-S (Canon and Nikon introduced
APS
lenses once and it might be optically corrected).
