Duggal is my primary lab -- they are local for me in NYC. They will do 
either flatbed or drum scans of slides. Their primary clientele is 
professional photographers, so unlike large retail outlets like Ritz 
they color-correct all their scans and let you specify the output

They are also very good at long-distance work as long as you specify 
exactly what you want. You would probably need to call them for a quote 
given the number of slides and what output size you are looking for.

Full disclosure: I don't shoot digital; I use Duggal for all my black & 
white and color slide/trans processing. I also haven't owned a slide 
scanner for years now so I have no idea what the economics are of an 
eBay slide scanner vs. paying for good scans.
