sunset at beach shots

by "joe mama" <dmoss74@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 15, 2006 at 11:14 PM

hi,

i want to get some shots at dusk at the beach, with fill light. i have a
couple of very nice monolights, but can't take them to the beach. unless i

get a generator, which might be a consideration, depending on prices.

i live in so cal, and always see people at the beach at sunset taking
pics.
they appear to be pros. they have handle mount flashes--typically--so i am

assuming those are the metz/sunpak units.

the problem with that (for me), is that i'd like to get an umbrella to
diffuse the light, move away from on axis, and be able to warm the flash
with gels. i know i am probably looking at a very expensive battery pack
rig, but can anyone suggest anything, including the battery packs, if
that's
the best way to go about it.

again, i might just get a generator, but am afraid the cities would bum
out
with the noise.

thanks....
