I think you tend to get what you pay for. I don't know much about Nikon
lenses but www.photozone.de has a review of the Sigma 70-300mm (albeit
with the Canon mount) and the results were not spectacular. Having said
that, if you can pick one up for a meagre £55 pounds then go for it. Not
much to be lost at that price.
